A Random List of Silly Things I Hate

I'm always a sucker for fun blog posts. Inevitably offering you a little more of my personality.

I spotted this one the other day here, which started here maybe.

This kind of follows on from the idea from my own mini-series of posts I wrote last year: on Things people commonly have that I do not, also Things I don't Do, and Things I most definitely Do.

Silly things I hate

Firstly, I should set myself a limit! Let's say ten. Otherwise I fear I might rant on about so many trivial things. In no particular order:

  1. Unruly children, and the fact their parents are oblivious to it. Your little precious needs guidance on conduct. Inattention is not the solution
  2. People who do not clean-up in the park when their dog has toileted. I have to say something every time.
  3. Oysters. It looks like a lump of slime. You then swallow it intact, without tasting. Where's the joy in that?
  4. Moths - Obviously. The way they flutter around aimlessly and inevitably fly into your face. Eeek. Oh, and flies - one minute resting on a pile of pooh, the next moment they are buzzing over your food.
  5. Diet drinks. Artificial sweeteners are one of the most under-researched man-made chemicals. Who had the idea: Let's take all the sugar out and use this chemical instead?
  6. Whisky. I know, I am a Scotsman, it should be running through my veins. I just find it too intense. It's like drinking fiery water.
  7. Rude or disrespectful individuals. I have zero tolerance. Being kind costs nothing.
  8. Blogs with no commenting, or an email - I know, a touchy subject for many. I love reading peoples blogs and sometimes I want to say thanks, or chat.
  9. Fly on the wall style documentaries showing fake people. We have a generation of kids watching this car-crash TV, thinking this is how you live and behave in the real world.
  10. AI, and the fact all the commercial software machines think they must force it on us.
  11. LinkedIn. "look at me, look how amazing I am in business". Reality: "we're all struggling, let's be real with each other"

Ok, that's 11. Everyone calm down

If you're inspired to write your own blog post on the same topic, drop me one of those communication things and I will link to it from here.
